Pools in North Las Vegas

The City of North Las Vegas issues pool permits through its Building Safety Division (North Las Vegas). The city adopts the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code through Municipal Code Chapter 15.84 (municipal code). North Las Vegas was one of the voting municipalities on the regional committee that developed the Southern Nevada amendments to the 2024 ISPSC (amendments). The city’s Current Adopted Codes and Ordinances page lists the 2024 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and the Southern Nevada amendments to it, as amended by the City of North Las Vegas (adopted codes). Those amendments cover residential barrier heights of at least 60 inches, setbacks from structures and easements, and structural design assumptions.

The city says its Building Safety Division performs plan reviews, issues permits and conducts inspections, that permits are issued electronically, and that customers need an online access account before applying for a permit. Many permits and inspection requests go through the city’s Citizen Self-Service portal. We haven’t verified North Las Vegas pool submittal checklists, fees or inspection sequences, so check with the Building Safety Division before you apply, and ask your contractor which code edition applies on your permit date.
